HI All,

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. It's back to school and back to a wonderful and exciting new IGNITE year !!

It was a very eventful summer for IGNITE. We won the prestigious PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES THAT WORK, and met with Senator Cantwell and Senator Murray in Washington DC. I did a speech in the Congress, which was attended by a huge entourage of IGNITE members. It was quite an exciting event. Today I received our picture with Senator Murray and will figure out how to get that up on line so everyone can see it too.

Also Raelene Sanders and I co-presented at the Washington State Conference for Career and Technical Education Teachers in Yakima. It was a great event and really nice turnout. I want to thank Raelene for doing such a fantastic job presenting. I think we make a great team. We also had a booth for the day at the conference and a lot of interest in creating IGNITE all over the state of Washington. That was a fun and exciting experience. I did get everyones information and sent everyone a letter to help them start IGNITE chapters of their own. That brings us to this wonderful new day, and a new school year with the greatest expectations since we began in November of 1999.

I am currently working on getting the schedule built for this year. In the past I did the schedule in the spring. But what I discovered in the last few years, is that the schools did not have their calendars yet and we usually ended up changing the dates we picked. Some of you might remember that. So I decided to wait and and do it now. As soon as I have the school presentations set up I will send it out to the list and those of you who wanted it as soon as I had it done. I will get that to you asap. I am also coordinating that with our Microsoft field trip schedule as well.

So very soon, get ready to sign up and come and talk to the girls. I know they are very excited for this school year and ALL the wonderful IGNITE activities we will have planned.
