We had a fantastic presentation with the Project Lead the Way Class and the wonderful teacher Steve Simmons at Franklin HS. Project Lead the Way is a Pre-Engineering Program new to Franklin HS. To learn more, click here.
We will be working more and more with PLTW, and to encourage young women and young men of color to consider Engineering as an exciting career choice!!
We had three very special presenters and I would like to thank them for their amazing presentations. Thank you to Charmell Slaughter, Self Employed Success Coach, for telling her story and sharing herself with the students in a way that inspires us all. Thank you to Kendra Powers, Systems Security Engineer, Boeing. Kendra did such a great job telling her story and explaining all that she does as a Systems Engineer. We also that she was a Chemical Engineer for 5 years and what she did in that position. What a wealth of experience, and such a great inspiration. It is so obvious how much Kendra loves her work. Thank you to Martine Worrall, Mechanical Engineer at Synapse. It is a Product Development Company located right in the Madrona neighborhood. Martine is an Engineer out of college for one year, and so amazing!! It was obvious to us all how much she loves her job and being an Engineer. The students really loved her story and we are all very excited about going to visit Synapse in the near future. Martine we are so fortunate
to have you in IGNITE, welcome!!!
Another big thank you to the wonderful Steve Simmons teacher for Project Lead the Way. I can't say enough good things about how special he is. We are so lucky to have him teaching PLTW and for him to be an
IGNITE partner. Thank you Steve!!
