Seattle SQL Server Pass Summit

On Wednesday November 4, 2009, Cathi Rodgveller presented the IGNITE Program and our mission to a room of technology and engineering professionals from around the world at the Seattle SQL Server Pass Summit.

The topic was how to get girls into technology careers. It was quite an honor to be asked to participate as a speaker, and it was an amazing event. The lunch time panel, which included Cathi, made presentations to over 250 technology professionals at the Washington State Convention Center.

Summit participants lined up after the event and asked Cathi questions about IGNITE, some were interested in how to start an IGNITE Chapter in their local school district. One father in the audience had two girls who were IGNITE Student Members in the Seattle Chapter and he thanked Cathi for the great work IGNITE did with his daughters. Amazing!

Many people from all over the world signed up to participate in IGNITE and learn more about what we do. It was wonderful to get so much support and excitement about our goal to create an IGNITE Chapter in every school in the Nation...and eventually the world. This is our audience.

Cathi said: "It is always an honor to be asked to speak at these events and the crowd could not have been more thrilled with IGNITE."

Many thanks to Wendy Pastrick who invited Cathi to speak. We encourage all IGNITE Members and Students to keep your eyes open for more opportunities like this to spread the word about IGNITE!
