Student Mentoring - IGNITE Professional Members Program
Student Mentoring - IGNITE Professional Members Program
Most mentoring relationships grow naturally out of IGNITE events. They can also start and flourish online. Ignite is about building a worldwide network of support for young women considering a career in technology and engineering by pairing them up with women who have the same interests and career paths. The program is called Professional Members Program.Through our interactive form, students can search for mentors based on job title, organization, and location. Once they have found a match, they can then email the mentor, asking questions and building a long term relationship filled with advice and guidance from professional women who have walked in their shoes.
Seattle Central Web Design/Development students looking for Job Shadow
Women students studying web design and development at Seattle Central Community College are seeking opportunities to shadow IT professionals on their job for a few hours one day. This program will extend through April 2. Our students have questions about the typical work day, what skills are needed, and the culture of the workplace. Seeing professionals in their environment for half a day will strengthen students’ confidence.
