Ballard High School Presentation, February 11th, 2010
We had a great event at Ballard High Scool today! The turnout was smaller than usual, but the girls were so thrilled to be there and meet the presenters. We had 5 presenters and 3 were brand new to the IGNITE experience. The word awesome is an understatement to describe the new IGNITE mentors. Extraordinary, fantastic, real, and passionate would come close and words do not really describe the experience of witnessing passionate mentors sharing their story and wanting to connect with girls and inspire them. I wish you all could have been there. It was special.

Hi All, We had a fantastic event yesterday at Sealth High School. There was a great turnout, every seat was taken in the library. They were very interested and excited to be at an IGNITE event. The Presenters were wonderful. Thank you to our extraordinary presenters! Thank you to Cheryl Platz, User Experience Designer, Microsoft. Cheryl is also in theatre, and makes her story fun and exciting to hear. She is such a natural at telling her story. The girls laugh and smile and clearly enjoy listening to her. Fabulous, wonderful, at connecting with the girls.

Cleveland High School, Seattle, WAThank you to Martine Worrall, Mechanical Engineer, Synapse Product Development. Martine always is able to inspire girls into Engineering. Her passion for what she does and her ability to connect to the girls makes it a special thing to witness. Martine tells her story about finding out about engineering and how she went about getting to where she is today, a highly successful engineer. If anyone can inspire girls to love engineering it's Martine. She is not much older than these girls and they can see themselves in her.

Hi All, We had a great event today at Garfield. This group of girls were very interested in IGNITE and being part of all we do. It was a great group. They wanted to ask lots of questions and I wished we had more time. Thank you to all the speakers who attended this event today: Nora Duffy, Intellectual Property. Nora is a long time volunteer who inspires girls to learn about all their career choices in the technology field. She shares her story to show girls that having the motivation to learn about technology careers will pay off for them for so many reasons.

IGNITE Fundraiser Event
IGNITE is holding a fundraiser at Dreamclinic on June 20th, 2009. There will be Live Music by Rusty Prose, Chair Massages, Airbrushed Tattoos, and a Silent Auction. If you can, please make a donation to our silent auction. Tickets are $30.
