Over 200 events and activities are planned for the first ever Seattle Science Festival...
November 6th, planning and strategy meeting
The US State Department has asked IGNITE to spearhead a new project that engages girls across the world in talking about technology and getting involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and careers. The discussions will be started and led by girls involved in IGNITE in the United States - in other words, YOU. We will primarily be using Facebook to talk about issues and to plan events and conversations, and we are also developing a blog and a penpal program.
This exciting project is still in the planning stages, and we want you involved! We have set up a meeting on Saturday, November 6th, from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the Northgate Branch of Seattle Public Library. You are invited to attend the meeting to get onboard with the project, contribute your ideas, and learn more about how to plan and work on big projects.
Please let us know if you can make it. There will be pizza, and lots of opportunities to talk about ideas and break into smaller groups to brainstorm.
If you join the IGNITE Discussion Group on Facebook you can add an RSVP or note to the event for the November 6th meeting to tell us whether you're coming or not. You can also RSVP by email if you prefer.
