Hi All, We had a wonderful presentation at Marshall HS. The women did an outstanding job in relating to the young women. They really were great. Thank you to Marta Smith (Software Test Lead - Microsoft), Martine Worrall (Product Engineer - Synapse), Marla Mingee (MP Tech Consulting - MIcrosoft), Cindy Solvang (Program Manager for On-Boarding - Microsoft), and Jane Rasmussen (Senior Product Manager - Microsoft). You were all so amazing and it was such a pleasure to have you at Marshall. Thank you to the wonderful Career Center Specialist Estela Mendoza who works so hard for IGNITE, and does a great job. We appreciate all that you do !! Here are the comments from the girls. - I liked the last speaker, and I liked how she asked about us. I also liked the teen mom speaker being that I am a teen mom. She gave me hope.
- I really liked learning about Mechanical Engineering and how things relate to it. I learned that even though some of the women were not so good at math, they still had great careers, and that is a relief because I have trouble with math.
- I liked that the women asked about my dreams for my future.
- I liked the part where we spoke about our dreams. I liked hearing about the people's life stories.
- I liked when we got involved and heard their struggles. I think the presentation was really good.
- I liked a lot of the speakers and how they talked about the things that they have been through.
- I liked the girl with the pink hair and her job sounds fun.
- I liked when a speaker asked us what excites us most and how each speaker gave us one on one advice which would be very helpful in the long run.
- I was interested in when the speakers told us their experiences.
- I liked the speakers sharing their life stories with us.
- What I liked best was that they didn't only talk about their career but about how their life was before that career.
- I learned that you just have to push for what you want in life no matter what. I want to do more IGNITE events.
- I liked when the women come out of the way to tell me their life. I would like to meet them to get to know them better. I want to do more of everything.
- I learned the difference between Engineering and Technology, and it is not that different. I loved hearing the speakers life stories.
- I really like Mechanics and Electronics. I liked them all and I loved Martine.
- It was great to hear about everyone's life, it inspired me. :)
Well, as you all can hear, it is the girls who always say it best. Great job everyone !! Thank you so much, Cathi
